Brain Health is far more important than Wealth!

Brain health is far more important than wealth: start one, tiny new habit TODAY.

About a week ago I listened to a Podcast titled:  “The 7 basics for brain health”. My mates all know that I am MORE THAN fascinated by all the latest neuroscience. Updates, Research and White Papers are being released weekly, and they often make phenomenal reading (if you like that stuff).

This particular Podcast was ‘science- heavy’, and oulined how our brains utilize ‘energy’ and how this is crucial for enhancing mental agility, and avoiding neurodegenerative illnesses.

BOUNCING FORWARD to the ... “So what, now what?”
At the end of the Podcast, they shared the SEVEN basics. I have typed my ‘non-negotiables' in the brackets next to each.

1.     Diet (No processed food & limit sugar)
2.     Exercise (at least 20mins of cardio PER DAY & 7 days per week)
3.     Sleep (min 7 hours per night)
4.     Targeted Supplements (contact me for more info)
5.     Brain Training (MY NEW HABIT )
6.     Manage Stress (see my 24th May LinkedIn Post on “Motion shifts Emotion”)
7.     Detoxing (Daily Intermittent Fasting)

As I age, I need to tweak, change, and add more specific habits to each of the above 7 ‘basics’. I have found that the more I 'tune' into listening, and understanding my own 'ecosystem (aka my body) ... the better I feel. This is emotionally, physically and mentally. Note: I didn't do very well with this in my 40s. In fact I suffered Burnout.

Some context on why I chose 'BRAIN TRAINING' as my new habit today.

I am writing my next book. Please give me feedback on the working title: "DEAL with CHANGE. Use the 4 dimensions of resilience to learn how to BOUNCE FORWARD."

Knuckling down to write extensively again, I need 'BRAIN TRAINING' as a new daily habit, and specifically to improve my vocabulary.

I found this ‘sexy’ new APP called “Word of the Day”. Today’s word is “Wiseacre”, which means “someone who pretends to be smart in a way that is annoying”.

Flip, I hope that’s not me !
