Yesterday morning, relaxing and nestled in my favourite chair with a cup of coffee, I opened my “Morning Brew” and burst out laughing.
The story?
A playdate between two canine opposites: Reggie, the world’s tallest dog, and Pearl, the world’s shortest-so tiny she’s actually smaller than a dollar bill.
Reggie, a gentle Great Dane, is “just a big baby.” Pearl, the pint-sized chihuahua, loves to be flashy and wear clothes.
Despite their vast differences in size and personality, they met, sniffed, and then settled together on a sofa, completely indifferent to what set them apart.
For the last 25 years, I’ve used the Enneagram Personality System to help people understand and appreciate their differences in teams and organisations.
My eyes and ears are always attuned to behavioural differences that go way beyond looks, colour, race, age, gender, or experience.
Reading about Reggie and Pearl’s playdate was a delightful reminder that, just like in teams, the most unlikely pairings can create the best connections-if we don’t judge a book by its cover.
So, as you start your week, remember:
You never know what magic might happen on your own “playdate” this week.
