Dump Detox - Rather RETOX!

I want to challenge the notion of detoxing = that stringent abstaining from unhealthy substances; cutting OUT things we LOVE, and pulling on every once of (the limited) willpower we have.

There's a new way to approach this journey towards a better you- say hello to RETOX, the ultimate path to embracing life, happiness, and resilience!

Detoxing has become synonymous with deprivation. It often feels like we're restricting ourselves from indulging in the things that bring us joy. Not to mention, detoxes can be downright challenging to follow. So, why not flip the script and focus on adding in healthy substances through RETOX?

Retox is all about living life to the fullest while adding things that strengthen your body, mind, and overall well-being. It's about embracing what you and the world have to offer, and finding simple, doable solutions to amplify it all.

Unlike detoxing, which may impose strict rules and regulations on your lifestyle, RETOX frees you from that burden. It's about finding freedom in your choices and experiencing true happiness, both in the big and small things.
So, how can you incorporate RETOX into your life? Here are a few practical ideas:

  1. Mindful Feasting: Instead of focusing on what you can't eat, enrich your diet with vibrant, nourishing foods. Experiment with new recipes, add more colorful fruits and veggies to your meals, and savor every bite mindfully. Remember, food should be your ally, not your enemy!
  2. Hydration with a Twist: Hydrating doesn't have to be boring! Infuse your water with slices of fresh fruits, or frozen berries. lately I have added #Doterra Peppermint oil to my sparkling water. I feel like this is 'mouth entertainment' :-)
  3. Movement that Moves You: Exercise shouldn't be a chore. Find activities that bring you joy, whether it's dancing, hiking, yoga, or playing a sport. The key is to engage in movement that not only benefits your physical health but also leaves you feeling invigorated and alive.
  4. Rest and Recharge: 'Sleep is your Superpower' is my favourite Keynote Talk (or "Sleep your way to the Top" ... if my client allows). Prioritize self-care. The last two Sundays, I have been for a short run . Then showered and had a PJ day!
  5. Practice gratitude and mindfulness. And it is a daily 'practice' ... whether it's a gratitude journal; daily meditation (mine is between 12 and 23 mins) and I use the App #BrainTap.

Embracing RETOX means being KIND to yourself and celebrating the journey of life, even when we stumble. So, let's reframe detoxing into something positive, empowering, and exciting.
