Stillness is the Enemy of Resilience!

Are you moving forward, or just standing still?

Every morning, I savour Seth Godin’s blog the way some people crave their first coffee.

Seth's latest post, “The biggest thing you bring to the project is forward,” made me pause and reflect.

Seth reminds us: forward motion is more than a direction.

It’s an attitude, a skill, and sometimes, the very spark that a team or project needs.

In a world that’s constantly shifting, standing still can feel deceptively safe-but it’s forward motion that builds resilience and purpose.

So, what does it really take to #BounceForward mentally, emotionally, physically AND with a sense of purpose?

Here are three practical ways I’ve found to help myself and others keep moving forward, even when the path is uncertain:

🧩 Practice Micro-Shifts:

You don’t have to overhaul your life to make progress. Try shifting one small thing each day-like taking a mindful breath before a meeting, or reframing a setback as a learning opportunity.

🩺 Check in With Your Body:

Interoception (tuning into your internal signals) is your early warning system. Notice tension, hunger, fatigue, or excitement. Use these cues to adjust your pace, take a break, or celebrate a win.

⚓Anchor Yourself in Purpose:

When things get tough, remind yourself why you do what you do. Purpose is the compass that keeps us moving forward, even when the terrain is rocky.

Seth says, “Going forward requires skills, attitudes and belief.”

I’d add: it also requires community. 🧑🤝🧑

We lift each other up when we share what works, what doesn’t, and how we keep moving-together.

This week focus on one small way that you’ll move forward #BounceForward today?
